• தூய இந்தியா இயக்கம் (Clean India Mission, அலுவல் முறையாக சுவச்ச பாரத் அபியான், Swachh Bharat அல்லது Swachh Bharat Abhiyan) நாட்டின் 4041 நகரங்களில் உள்ள சாலைகள், கட்டமைப்புக்களை தூயப்படுத்துவதற்காக இந்திய அரசு துவக்கியுள்ள இயக்கமாகும்.
• இந்த இயக்கத்தை அக்டோபர் 2, 2014 அன்று புது தில்லியில் ராஜ்காட்டில் இந்தியப் பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோதி துவக்கி வைத்தார். காந்தி தங்கியிருந்த இல்லத்திற்கு வெளியே சாலையை சுத்தப்படுத்தி திட்டம் தொடங்கி வைக்கப்பட்டது. 
• 3 மில்லியன் அரசுப் பணியாளர்களும் பள்ளி, கல்லூரி மாணவர்களும் பங்கேற்கும் இத்திட்டமே இந்தியாவின் மிகப் பெரும் தூய்மை இயக்கமாகும்.

நோக்கம்

• 2019 அக்டோபர் 2 அன்று மகாத்மா காந்தியின் நூற்றைம்பதாவது பிறந்த நாள் கொண்டாடப்படவுள்ள நிலையில் அந்த நாளுக்குள் இந்தியாவில் திறந்தவெளிக் கழிப்பிடங்கள் இல்லாத நாடாக்குதல், அனைத்து வீடுகளிலும், பள்ளிகளிலும் கழிப்பறை கட்டப்படுவதை உறுதிசெய்தல்.

பின்னணி

• இந்திய அரசு 1999 ஏப்ரல் 1இல் எளிய ஊரக துப்புரவு திட்டத்தைக் கட்டமைப்பு மாற்றம் செய்து, சமூகத் தலைமை முழுமைத் துப்புரவு பரப்புரையைத் (Total Sanitation Campaign) (TSC) தொடங்கி வைத்தது. பின்னர் 2012 ஏப்ரல் 1இல் நிர்மல் பாரத் அபியான் (Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan) (NBA) என மன்மோகன் சிங் அவர்களால் பெயர் மாற்றப்பட்டது.
• நிர்மல் பாரத் அபியான் கட்டமைப்பை மாற்றி, தூய்மை இந்தியா இயக்கம் (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan) என இந்திய அமைச்சரவை 2014 செப்டம்பர் 24 இல் ஒப்புதல் அளித்தது.
• தூய்மை இந்தியா இயக்கம் (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan) 2014 அக்டோபர் 2 இல் தொடங்கப்பட்டது. 
• இதன் நோக்கம் திறந்தவெளி மலங்கழிப்பை 2019க்குள் ஒழித்துகட்டலே ஆகும். தூய்மை இந்தியா இயக்கம் ஒரு தேசிய பரப்புரையாகும். இது 4,041 நகரங்களையும் பேரூர்களையும் உள்ளடக்கும்

• Clean India Mission (officially Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Swachh Bharat or Swachh Bharat Abhiyan) is a movement launched by the Government of India to clean roads and structures in 4041 cities of the country.
• The movement was launched on October 2, 2014 by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi at Rajghat in New Delhi. The project was launched by cleaning the road outside Gandhi's residence. It is India's biggest cleanliness drive, involving 3 million government employees and school and college students.

Purpose

• As Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary is being celebrated on October 2, 2019, make India free of open latrines by that day and ensure that all homes and schools are equipped with latrines.

Background

• The Government of India restructured the simple rural sanitation program on 1 April 1999 and launched the community-led Total Sanitation Campaign (TSC). It was later renamed Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA) by Manmohan Singh on 1 April 2012.
• The Cabinet of India approved the Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan on 24 September 2014 as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
• Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched on 2 October 2014. The aim is to eliminate open defecation by 2019. The Clean India Movement is a national campaign covering 4,041 cities and towns
