• காவேரி-வைகை-குண்டாறு இணைப்புத் திட்டத்தால், வெள்ளக் காலங்களில் காவேரியில் உபரியாக வெளியேறும் நீரை கரூர் மாவட்டத்தின், மாயனூர் தடுப்பணையில் தடுத்து, திருச்சிராப்பள்ளி மாவட்டம், தஞ்சாவூர் மாவட்டம் புதுக்கோட்டை மாவட்டம், சிவகங்கை மாவட்டம் மற்றும் விருதுநகர் மாவட்டங்களின் வறண்ட பகுதிகள் வழியாக குண்டாற்றுடன் பாசானக் கால்வாய்களை வெட்டி இணைப்பதன் மூலமாக இப்பகுதிகள் நீர் வளமும், நில வளமும் பெறும் வகையில் இத்திட்டத்திற்கு பிப்ரவரி 2021-இல் அடிக்கல் நாட்டப்பட்டது. 
• காவேரி - குண்டாறு இணைப்புத் திட்டத்திற்கு கர்நாடக அரசு எதிர்ப்பு தெரிவித்துள்ளது
• காவேரி ஆறு - தெற்கு வெள்ளாறு – வைகை ஆறு – குண்டாறு இணைப்பு திட்டத்தின் முதல் கட்டமாக, ரூபாய் 6,941 கோடி மதிப்பில் புதிய பாசனக் கால்வாய்கள் தோண்ட பிப்ரவரி 2021-இல் அடிக்கல் நாட்டப்பட்டது. 
• இதன்மூலம் கரூர், திருச்சி, புதுக்கோட்டை ஆகிய மாவட்டங்களில் உள்ள 342 ஏரிகளும், 42,170 ஏக்கர் நிலங்களும் பயன்பெறும் வகையில் 118.45 கி.மீ நீளத்திற்கு கட்டளைக் கால்வாயிலிருந்து கால்வாய் வெட்டப்பட்டு புதுக்கோட்டை மாவட்டத்தில் பாயும் தெற்கு வெள்ளாற்றுடன் இணைக்கப்படுகிறது.
• இரண்டாவது கட்டமாக, புதுக்கோட்டை மாவட்டம், சிவகங்கை மாவட்டம், இராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டங்களில் உள்ள 220 ஏரிகளும், 23,245 ஏக்கர் நிலங்களும் பயன்பெறும் வகையில் தெற்கு வெள்ளாற்றிலிருந்து 109 கிமீ நீளத்திற்கு புதிய பாசனக் கால்வாய்களை உருவாக்கி வைகை ஆற்றுடன் இணைக்கப்படுகிறது.
• மூன்றாவது கட்டத்தில், விருதுநகர் மாவட்டம் மற்றும் இராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டங்களில் 492 ஏரிகள் மற்றும் 44,547 ஏக்கர் நிலங்களும் பயன் பெறும் வகையில் 34 கிமீ நீளத்திற்கு புதிய பாசானக் கால்வாய்களை வெட்டி வைகை ஆறு முதல் குண்டாறு வரை இணைக்கப்படுகிறது. 
• இதற்கு ரூபாய் 14,400 கோடியில் 262 கிலோ மீட்டர் தொலைவிற்கு நிறைவேற்றப்படவுள்ள இத்திட்டத்தின் மூலம் வெள்ளக் காலங்களில் வீணாகும் 6,300 மில்லியன் கனஅடி தண்ணீர் ஆக்கப்பூர்வமாக திருப்பப்படுவதால் தென் மாவட்டங்களில் நிலத்தடி நீர் அதிகரிப்பதோடு, குடிநீர் தேவையும் நிறைவடையும்.
• மேலும் காவேரி துணை வடிநிலத்திலுள்ள உள்கட்டமைப்புகளில் விரிவாக்கம், புதுப்பித்தல் மற்றும் நவீனப்படுத்தும் திட்டத்தின் கீழ் புனரமைக்கும் பணிகள் ரூ.3,384 கோடி மதிப்பில் செயல்படுத்தப்படவுள்ளது. 
• இத்திட்டத்தின் மூலம் தஞ்சாவூர், திருவாரூர், நாகப்பட்டினம் மற்றும் மயிலாடுதுறை ஆகிய மாவட்டங்களில் 987 கி.மீ நீளமுள்ள 21 ஆறுகளின் மொத்த பாசன பரப்பான 4,67,345 ஏக்கர் நிலங்கள் பாசனம் உறுதி செய்யப்படும்

திட்டத்தால் பயன்பெறும் மாவட்டங்களும், வருவாய் வட்டங்களும்

• கரூர் மாவட்டம்: குளித்தலை வட்டம் மற்றும் கிருஷ்ணராயபுரம் வட்டம்
• திருச்சிராப்பள்ளி மாவட்டம்: திருச்சிராப்பள்ளி வட்டம் மற்றும் ஸ்ரீரங்கம் வட்டம்
• புதுக்கோட்டை மாவட்டம் : புதுக்கோட்டை வட்டம், கந்தர்வகோட்டை வட்டம், கறம்பக்குடி வட்டம்,ஆலங்குடி வட்டம், திருமயம் வட்டம், குளத்தூர் வட்டம், அறந்தாங்கி வட்டம், ஆவுடையார்கோயில் வட்டம்.
• சிவகங்கை மாவட்டம் : காரைக்குடி வட்டம், தேவகோட்டை வட்டம், திருப்பத்தூர் வட்டம், சிவகங்கை வட்டம், காளையார்கோவில் வட்டம், திருப்புவனம் வட்டம், மானாமதுரை வட்டம் மற்றும் இளையான்குடி வட்டம்.
• இராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டம் : திருவாடானை வட்டம், பரமக்குடி வட்டம், கமுதி வட்டம், கடலாடி வட்டம், முதுகுளத்தூர் வட்டம் மற்றும் இராமநாதபுரம் வட்டம்
• விருதுநகர் மாவட்டம்: திருச்சுழி வட்டம், காரியாபட்டி வட்டம் மற்றும் அருப்புக்கோட்டை வட்டம்
• தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்டம்: விளாத்திக்குளம் வட்டம்

ENGLISH

• The Kaveri-Vaikai-Gundaru Linkage Project will intercept the excess water flowing out of the Kaveri during floods at the Mayanur Barrage in Karur District and connect irrigation canals with the Gundar through the dry areas of Tiruchirappalli District, Thanjavur District, Pudukottai District, Sivagangai District and Virudhunagar District to provide water and land resources to these areas. 
• The foundation stone for this project was laid in February 2021. The Karnataka government has opposed the Cauvery-Gundaru link project
• The first phase of the Kaveri River - South Vellaru - Vaigai River - Gundaru Linkage Project was laid in February 2021 for digging new irrigation canals at a cost of Rs 6,941 crore. Through this, a canal will be cut from the command canal for a length of 118.45 km to benefit the 342 lakes and 42,170 acres of land in the districts of Karur, Trichy and Pudukottai and will be connected to the South Vella River flowing in Pudukottai district.
• In the second phase, 220 lakes and 23,245 acres of land in Pudukottai District, Sivagangai District and Ramanathapuram District are to be benefited by constructing 109 km of new irrigation canals from South Vellar and connecting with Vaigai River.
• In the third phase, 34 km of new irrigation canals will be cut and connected from Vaigai river to Gundaru to benefit 492 lakes and 44,547 acres of land in Virudhunagar district and Ramanathapuram district. 
• For this, 6,300 million cubic feet of water wasted during floods will be diverted constructively through this project, which will be implemented for a distance of 262 km at a cost of Rs. 14,400 crores.
• Also, under the expansion, renovation and modernization of infrastructure in the Cauvery sub-basin, reconstruction works will be implemented at a cost of Rs 3,384 crore. The scheme will ensure irrigation of 4,67,345 acres of land in the districts of Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Mayiladuthurai along 987 km of 21 rivers.

• Sivagangai District : Karaikudi Circle, Devakottai Circle, Tirupattur Circle, Sivagangai Circle, Kalaiyarkovil Circle, Tiruppuvanam Circle, Manamadurai Circle and Ilayankudi Circle.
• Ramanathapuram District : Thiruvadanai Circle, Paramakkudy Circle, Kamudi Circle, Kudaladi Circle, Mudugulathur Circle and Ramanathapuram Circle
