• இளம் விஞ்ஞானி ஊக்கத் திட்டம்(ஆங்கிலம்: Young Scientist Incentive Plan) (KVPY:Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) என்பது, இந்திய அரசாங்கத்தின் அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பம் துறையினரால் வழங்கப்படும் ஒரு உதவித்தொகை திட்டம் ஆகும். 
• இது மாணவர்கள் ஆராய்ச்சி படிப்புகளை அடிப்படை அறிவியல் துறையில் எடுத்து படிக்க ஊக்கம் அளிக்கும் நோக்கத்தினை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது. 
• இந்த அமைப்பு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட மாணவர்கள்களுக்கு உதவித்தொகை மற்றும் இடைக்கால மானியங்களை முனைவர்(பிஎச்டி) பட்டப்படிப்பிற்கு முந்தைய நிலை வரை வழங்குகிறது. 1999ல் தொடங்கப்பட்ட, இது இந்திய அறிவியல் கழகம் மூலம் நிர்வகிக்கப்படுகிறது. 
• இந்த இளம் விஞ்ஞானிகள் ஊக்கத் திட்டம் (KVPY) என்பது தேசம் முழுவதும் திறமையான மாணவர்களை அடிப்படை அறிவியல் துறையில் மேற்படிப்பு மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சிகளை மேற்கொள்ளும் வகையில் ஈர்க்கவும் மற்றும் ஊக்கப்படுத்தவும் இந்திய அரசின், அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பத்  துறையினரால் நிதி வழங்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
• இந்த திட்டத்தின் குறிக்கோள், ஆய்வு படிப்புகளில் திறமை மற்றும் சூட்சமத் திறனுடன் கூடிய மாணவர்களை அடையாளம் காணுவது; அவர்கள் தங்கள் திறனை படிப்பினில் உணரவும், நாட்டில் ஆராய்ச்சி மற்றும் மேம்பாட்டுக்கான சிறந்த விஞ்ஞான சிந்தனைகளின் வளர்ச்சியை உறுதிசெய்யவும் விஞ்ஞானத்தில் ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்களைப் பயிற்றுவிப்பதற்காக ஊக்கப்படுத்தவும் செய்கிறது.
• மாணவர்களின் தேர்வானது XI வகுப்பு முதல்  இளங்கலைத் அறிவியல் பாடப்படிப்பு மற்றும் ஒருங்கிணைந்த முதுகலை அறிவியல் (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S.) பாடப்படிப்புகளில் கணிதம், இயற்பியல், வேதியியல் மற்றும் உயிரியல் பிரிவுகளில் முதலாம் ஆண்டு மாணவர்களுக்கு சூட்சம் தேர்வு மூலம் நடக்கிறது. 
• விண்ணப்பங்களை திரட்ட மற்றும் நாட்டில் பல்வேறு மையங்களில் திறனாய்வு சோதனை நடத்த சிறப்பு குழுக்கள்  ஐ.ஐ.எஸ்.சி. இல் அமைக்கப்படுகின்றன, சூட்சம தேர்வினில் தேர்ச்சிப் பெற்ற மாணவர்கள் நேர்முக தேர்வுக்கு அழைக்கப்படுகிறார்கள், 
• இது தேர்வு செயல்முறையின் இறுதி நிலை ஆகும். ஊக்கத்தொகைப் பெற, சூட்சமத் தேர்வு மற்றும் நேர்முகத் தேர்வில் பெறப்படும் இரண்டு மதிப்பெண்களும் கருத்தில்கொள்ளப்படுகிறது.
• தகுதிப் பட்டியல்கள் எஸ்.ஏ., எஸ்.பீ. மற்றும் எஸ்.சி சூட்சம தேர்வுகளில் பெறப்படும் மதிப்பெண்களில் 75% எடையையும்,  நேர்முகப் தேர்வில் பெறப்படும் மதிப்பெண்களில் 25% எடையையும் அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டது.
• எஸ்.ஏ (SA)  11ஆம் வகுப்பில் அறிவியலை ஒரு பாடமாகப் படிக்கும் மாணவர்கள் எழுதலாம். 
• எஸ்.எக்ஸ் (SX) வகுப்பு 12ஆம் வகுப்பில் அறிவியலை ஒரு பாடமாகப் படிக்கும் மாணவர்கள் எழுதலாம். 
• எஸ்.பி(SB) இளங்கலை அறிவியில் படிக்கும் முதலாம் ஆண்டு மாணவர்கள் எழுதலாம்

• The Young Scientist Incentive Plan (KVPY:Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana) is a scholarship scheme offered by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. It is based on the objective of encouraging students to take up research courses in the field of basic science. 
• The organization offers scholarships and interim grants to selected students up to the pre-doctoral (PhD) degree level. 
• Launched in 1999, it is administered by the Indian Institute of Science. The Young Scientists Incentive Program (KVPY) is funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to attract and motivate talented students across the country to pursue studies and research in basic sciences.
• The objective of this program is to identify students with talent and aptitude in research studies; It encourages them to realize their potential in studies and to train researchers in science to ensure development of best scientific ideas for research and development in the country.
• Students' selection is from Class XI to Bachelor of Science course and Integrated Master of Science (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S.) courses in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in first year. Suksham for students is done through examination. 
• IISC has appointed special committees to collect applications and conduct aptitude tests at various centers in the country. are set up in, the candidates who clear the entrance exam are called for the interview which is the final stage of the selection process. Both the marks obtained in the mock test and the interview are considered to get the incentive.
• Merit Lists for S.A., S.B. and SC is based on 75% weightage of marks obtained in preliminaries and 25% weightage of marks obtained in interview.
• Students studying Science as a subject in SA class 11 can write.
• SX Class 12th Students studying Science as a subject can write.
• First year students studying in SB Bachelor of Science can write
