• Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan is a youth welfare organization established in 1972 in India. Rajiv Gandhi made it an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India as Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan in 1987.
• It is the largest and unique youth development organization in the world. It harnesses youth power based on the principle of volunteering, self-help and social participation.

Objectives

• Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan has two main objectives which are: To provide means to the rural youth for nation building, To promote opportunities for developing their personality and skills.

Importance

• Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan is working on various youth welfare schemes of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and special schemes in coordination and cooperation with other Ministries in various aspects of youth development. 
• The main focus is on good citizenship, thinking and behaving in secular ways, skill development and helping the youth adopt productive and organized behaviour.
