• பொது விநியோக திட்டம், அத்தியாவசியமான பொருட்களை மலிவான விலையில் ஒவ்வொரு மாதமும் நியாய விலைக் கடைகள் மூலம் ஏழை மக்களுக்கு வழங்குகிறது.

• தமிழ்நாடு அனைவருக்குமான பொது விநியோக திட்ட செயல்முறையைப் பின்பற்றுகிறது. அதில் வறுமைக் கோட்டிற்கு கீழ் மற்றும் வறுமைக் கோட்டிற்கு மேல் என்ற பாகுபாடு இல்லை. 
• இருப்பினும் இம்மாநிலம் அந்தயோதயா அண்ணா யோஜனாவை (AAY) செயல்படுத்துகிறது மற்றும் தற்போது 18,63,185 அந்தயோதயா அண்ணா யோஜனா பயனாளர்கள் உள்ளனர். 
• பிழை இல்லாக் கணக்கெடுப்பு முறை இல்லாததாலும் தற்போதைய குறியீட்டு முறையும் குறைபாட்டுடன் இருப்பதாலும் வறுமையை ஒழிக்க இத்திட்டம் தொடங்கப்பட்டது.

• தமிழ்நாட்டின் பொது விநியோக திட்ட அமைப்புமுறை கொள்முதல், சேமிப்பு, உணவு தானிய வழங்கல் மற்றும் பரந்த நியாய விலைக் கடைப் பிணையம் மூலம் நுகர்வோர்களுக்கு உணவுப் பொருள் வழங்கல் மற்றும் அத்தியாவசிய பொருட்களின் பரிமாற்ற செயல்பாட்டை கண்காணித்தல், வழிமுறை, செயல்பாட்டு மீறல் அல்லது முறைக்கேட்டிற்க்கு எதிராக நடவடிக்கை எடுத்தல் போன்ற செயல்பாட்டு முறையை பின்பற்றுகிறது.

Purpose

• The objective of the Public Distribution Program in Tamil Nadu is to provide food to all citizens, especially the poor. Public Distribution Program provides essential commodities at affordable prices to poor people every month through Fair Price Shops.

Objectives of Public Distribution Scheme

• To eliminate chronic hunger and food shortages in Tamil Nadu
• To protect citizens from the ill effects of rising prices of essential commodities
• Reduce micronutrient deficiencies by providing essential nutrients
• To provide cheap domestic fuels (kerosene and LPG).
• Beneficiaries have easy access to fair price shops
• To provide essential commodities to poor people at affordable prices
• To deliver essential goods on time every month

Key strategies for implementing the Public Distribution Plan's effectiveness

• Mechanisms are in place to effectively deal with cardholder complaints
• Part-time shops have been opened in villages where it is difficult to access existing fair price shops
• Methods of timely and safe transfer of essential goods from one location to stores through temporary and route maps
• Improved methods of preventing fraud through stronger law enforcement and crime prevention measures
• Mechanisms for error-free and correct quantity allocation and transfer of essential commodities to fair price stores through electronic means

Public Distribution Scheme for all in Tamil Nadu

• Tamil Nadu follows the Universal Distribution Scheme process. It does not discriminate between below poverty line and above poverty line. 
• However the state is implementing Andayodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) and currently there are 18,63,185 Andayodaya Anna Yojana beneficiaries. The scheme was launched to eradicate poverty due to lack of error-free enumeration system and the existing coding system was flawed.
