• உலக வங்கி வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிக்கையில் கூறியிருப்பதாவது: இந்தியாவில் வேகமாக வளர்ந்து வரும் நகர்ப்புற மக்கள் தொகைக்கு ஏற்ப அவர்கள் தேவைகள் மற்றும் உட்கட்டமைப்புகளை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கு அடுத்த 15 ஆண்டுகளில் ரூ.68,21,640 கோடி தேவைப்படும். 
• ஆண்டுக்கு சராசரியாக ரூ.4.46 லட்சம் கோடி தேவை. ஆனால், தற்போது செலவழிக்கும் தொகை ரூ.1.43 லட்சம் கோடியாக மட்டுமே உள்ளது. 2036 ஆம் ஆண்டில் 60 கோடி மக்கள் இந்தியாவில் நகர்ப்புற நகரங்களில் வசிப்பார்கள்.

• According to a report released by the World Bank, Rs 68,21,640 crore will be required over the next 15 years to meet the rapidly growing urban population in India and develop their needs and infrastructure.
• An average requirement of Rs 4.46 lakh crore per annum. However, the current expenditure is only Rs.1.43 lakh crore. By 2036, 60 crore people will live in urban cities in India.
• This is about 40% of the country's population. This will put additional pressure on urban infrastructure.
• In particular, the need for more clean drinking water, reliable electricity, efficient and safe road transport, etc. will force people to provide quality in various infrastructures.
