• SRESTHA திட்டம், பட்டியல் சாதி மாணவர்களின் சமூக-பொருளாதார நிலை மற்றும் ஒட்டுமொத்த வளர்ச்சியை மேம்படுத்துவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
• இந்தத் திட்டத்தின் கீழ், திறமையான எஸ்சி மாணவர்களுக்கு தரமான குடியிருப்புக் கல்வி புகழ்பெற்ற தனியார் பள்ளிகளில் வழங்கப்படும்.
• SRESTHA என்பது, ‘இலக்கு வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள பகுதிகளில் உள்ள உயர்நிலைப் பள்ளிகளில் உள்ள மாணவர்களுக்கான குடியிருப்புக் கல்வி’ என்பதைக் குறிக்கிறது மற்றும் திறமையான SC மாணவர்களுக்கு அவர்களின் பிரகாசமான எதிர்காலத்தை உருவாக்க உதவும்.
• இத்திட்டம் சமூக நீதி மற்றும் அதிகாரமளித்தல் அமைச்சகத்தால் செயல்படுத்தப்படும்.
• 9 முதல் 12 வரையிலான மாணவர்களின் இடைநிற்றலைக் குறைக்க இது உதவும்.
• இத்திட்டத்திற்கு ரூ.300 கோடி நிதி தேவைப்படும் மற்றும் அடுத்த ஐந்து ஆண்டுகளில் 24,800 மாணவர்களுக்கு உதவும்.
• NITI ஆயோக் ஆர்வமுள்ள மாவட்டங்களில் புகழ்பெற்ற பொது அல்லாத குடியிருப்பு வசதிகளை அங்கீகரித்துள்ளது.

குறிக்கோள்

• கல்வித் துறையில் ஆதிக்கம் செலுத்தும் பிராந்தியங்களில் சேவையில் பின்தங்கிய பட்டியல் சாதியினர் (SCs) இடைவெளியைக் குறைக்க தன்னார்வக் குழுக்களுடன் ஒத்துழைத்தல்.
• பிரகாசமான பட்டியல் சாதி (SC) மாணவர்களுக்கு உயர்தரக் கல்வியை வழங்குவதன் மூலம் அவர்கள் எதிர்கால வாய்ப்புகளைத் தொடர முடியும்.

தகுதி

• நடப்பு கல்வியாண்டில் (2021-22) 8 மற்றும் 10 ஆம் வகுப்பு படிக்கும் பட்டியல் சாதியைச் சேர்ந்த மாணவர்கள் இத்திட்டத்தின் பலன்களைப் பெற தகுதியுடையவர்கள்.
• ஆண்டு வருமானம் ரூ.2.5 லட்சம் வரை உள்ள விளிம்புநிலை வருமானக் குழுவிலிருந்து வரும் எஸ்சி சமூகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த மாணவர்கள் தகுதியுடையவர்கள்.
• ஷ்ரேஷ்டா (NETS)க்கான தேசிய நுழைவுத் தேர்வு எனப்படும் வெளிப்படையான பொறிமுறையின் மூலம் தேர்வு செய்யப்படும்.
• இது 9 மற்றும் 11 ஆம் வகுப்பில் சேர்க்கைக்காக தேசிய தேர்வு முகமையால் (NTA) நடத்தப்படும்.

பயனாளிகள்

• ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் எஸ்சி பிரிவைச் சேர்ந்த சுமார் 3000 மாணவர்கள் இந்த முறையின் கீழ் 9 ஆம் வகுப்பு மற்றும் 11 ஆம் வகுப்புகளுக்குச் சேர்க்கப்படுவார்கள் என்று அரசு இலக்கு வைத்துள்ளது.
• அவர்கள் 12 ஆம் வகுப்பில் கல்வி கற்கும் வரை அவர்களது பள்ளிக் கட்டணம் மற்றும் தங்கும் விடுதிக் கட்டணங்கள் முழுவதையும் அமைச்சகம் ஏற்கும்.

ENGLISH

• The SRESTHA Scheme aims to uplift the socio-economic status and overall development of Scheduled Castes students.
• Under the scheme, quality residential education to meritorious SC students will be granted in reputed private schools.
• The SRESTHA signifies, ‘Residential Education for Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas’ and will help meritorious SC students to build their bright future.
• The scheme will be implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
• It will help to reduce the dropout of students from courses 9 to 12.
• The funds of Rs 300 crores will be required for the scheme and will help more than 24,800 students in the next five years.
• The NITI Aayog has recognized reputed non – public residential facilities in aspirational districts.

Objective

• To make easy delivery of the Governmental initiatives and schemes.
• To create a conducive atmosphere for the ‘Scheduled Castes' socioeconomic advancement and overall growth.
• Collaborating with volunteer groups to bridge the gap in service-deprived Scheduled Castes (SCs) dominating regions in the education sector.
• To enable bright Scheduled Caste (SC) students with high-quality education so that they can pursue future opportunities.

Eligibility

• The students, belonging to Scheduled Castes, studying in class 8th and 10th in the current academic year (2021-22) are eligible for availing the benefits of the scheme.
• Students from the SC community who come from a marginalized income group with an annual income of up to Rs.2.5 lakh are eligible.
• The selection will be done through a transparent mechanism which is known as National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA (NETS).
• It will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission in class 9th and 11th.

Beneficiaries

• Government has targeted that every year around 3000 students belonging to SC category will be admitted to Class 9 and Class 11 under this system.
• The Ministry will cover the whole cost of their school fees and accommodation fees till they have completed their academics in class 12th.
