24-வது தேசிய எண்ணெய்ப் படலம் பேரிடர் தற்செயல் திட்டம் மற்றும் தயார்நிலைக் கூட்டம் / 24th National Oil Spill Disaster Contingency Planning and Preparedness Meeting

• தமிழகத்தின் தலைநகர் சென்னையில் 24-வது தேசிய எண்ணெய்ப் படலம் பேரிடர் தற்செயல் திட்டம் மற்றும் தயார்நிலைக் கூட்டத்தை இந்திய கடலோரக் காவல்படை 30.11.2022 நடத்தியது. 
• இந்தக் கூட்டத்தின் தலைவரும், இந்திய கடலோரக் காவல் படையின் தலைமை இயக்குநருமான திரு வி எஸ் பதானியா, தலைமை வகித்தார். 
• பல்வேறு மத்திய அமைச்சர்கள், மத்திய – மாநில அரசுத்துறைகள் மற்றும் முகமைகள், மாநில மாசுக்கட்டுப்பாட்டு வாரியம், துறைமுகங்கள், எண்ணெய்  நிறுவனங்கள் ஆகியவற்றின் சுமார் 100 பிரதிநிதிகள் இதில் கலந்து கொண்டனர். 
• இந்திய கடல்பகுதியில், எண்ணெய் அல்லது ரசாயன படலம் ஏற்பட்டால் அதனை சமாளிக்கும் கூட்டுத்தயார் நிலையை உறுதி செய்வதே இந்தக் கூட்டத்தின் நோக்கமாகும்.
• உலகிலேயே கச்சா எண்ணெயை இறக்குமதி செய்யும் மூன்றாவது பெரிய நாடு இந்தியாவாகும்.  இந்தக் கச்சா எண்ணெய் கப்பல்கள் மூலமே இறக்குமதி செய்யப்படுகின்றன. இதே போல, ரசாயன இறக்குமதியிலும், உலகிலேயே 6-வது இடத்தை இந்தியா பிடித்துள்ளது. 
• எண்ணெய் மற்றும் ரசாயன கசிவுகளால் ஏற்படும் கடல்சார் அபாயங்களுக்கும் தீர்வு காணப்படவேண்டும். கசிவுகளால் கடலோர மக்களுக்கும், கடல்சார் சுற்றுச்சூழலுக்கும் பாதிப்பு ஏற்படும் என்பதால், இதற்கு அனைவரும் ஒன்று சேர்ந்து தடுப்பு நடவடிக்கைகளை எடுக்க வேண்டியது அவசியமாக உள்ளது.

• The Indian Coast Guard conducted the 24th National Oil Spill Disaster Contingency Plan and Preparedness Meeting at Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu on 30.11.2022. The meeting was presided over by Chairman and Director General, Indian Coast Guard, Mr VS Pathania.
• About 100 representatives of various Union Ministers, Central and State Government Departments and Agencies, State Pollution Control Boards, Ports and Oil Companies participated in it.
• The purpose of the meeting was to ensure a joint state of preparedness to deal with an oil or chemical spill in Indian waters.
• India is the third largest importer of crude oil in the world. This crude oil is imported through ships. Similarly, India ranks 6th in the world in terms of chemical imports.
• Marine hazards caused by oil and chemical spills must also be addressed. Since spills affect the coastal population and the marine environment, it is necessary to take preventive measures together.
