• பிரதான் மந்திரி ஆதர்ஷ் கிராம் யோஜனா (PMAGY), தாழ்த்தப்பட்ட பிரிவினருக்கு அதிகாரமளிப்பதற்கான இந்திய அரசாங்கத்தின் முன்முயற்சியானது, தொடர்புடைய அனைத்து மத்திய மற்றும் மாநில திட்டங்களையும் ஒன்றிணைத்து செயல்படுத்துவதன் மூலம் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட கிராமங்களின் ஒருங்கிணைந்த வளர்ச்சியை அடைவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
• PMAGY இன் நோக்கம், தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட கிராமங்களின் ஒருங்கிணைந்த வளர்ச்சியை "மாதிரி கிராமங்களாக" உறுதி செய்வதாகும், 
• இதன் மூலம், அவற்றின் சமூக-பொருளாதார மேம்பாட்டிற்கு தேவையான அனைத்து உடல் மற்றும் சமூக உள்கட்டமைப்புகளும் உள்ளன, 
• மேலும் ஒரு ஆதர்ஷ் கிராமின் பார்வையில் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ள விதிமுறைகளை பூர்த்தி செய்ய வேண்டும். 
• பொதுவான சமூகப் பொருளாதாரக் குறிகாட்டிகளின் அடிப்படையில் SC மற்றும் SC அல்லாத மக்களிடையே உள்ள வேறுபாடு (எ.கா. கல்வியறிவு விகிதம், தொடக்கக் கல்வியின் நிறைவு விகிதம், குழந்தை இறப்பு விகிதம்/ தாய் இறப்பு விகிதம் (IMR/MMR), உற்பத்திச் சொத்துகளின் உரிமை போன்றவை) நீக்கப்பட்டது. குறிகாட்டிகள் குறைந்தபட்சம் தேசிய சராசரி அளவிற்கு உயர்த்தப்படுகின்றன.

ENGLISH

• Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana (PMAGY), a government of India initiative for the empowerment of deprived sections, aims to achieve integrated development of selected villages through convergent implementation of all relevant Central and state schemes.
• The objective of PMAGY is to ensure integrated development of the selected villages into “model villages” so that, they have all requisite physical and social infrastructures for their socio-economic development, and satisfy the norms mentioned in the vision of an adarsh gram to the maximum possible extent.
• Disparity between SC and non-SC population in terms of common socioeconomic indicators (e.g. literacy rate, completion rate of elementary education, Infant Mortality Rate/ Maternal Mortality Ratio (IMR/MMR), ownership of productive assets, etc.) is eliminated, the indicators are raised to at least the level of the national average.
