உலகளாவிய இயற்கை மீட்டெடுப்பு கங்கை தூய்மை திட்டத்துக்கு ஐநா அங்கீகாரம் வழங்கியது / UN approved Global Nature Restoration Ganga Cleanup Project

• கனடாவில் மாண்ட்ரியல் மாகாணத்தில் ஐநா.வின் பல்லுயிர் பாதுகாப்பு அமைப்பின் 15வது உச்சி மாநாடு கடந்த 7ம் தேதி தொடங்கி 19ம் தேதி வரை நடைபெறுகிறது. 
• இதில் 200 நாடுகளை சேர்ந்த பிரதிநிதிகள் பங்கேற்றுள்ளனர். 2 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ஒருமுறை கூட்டப்படும் இந்த உச்சி மாநாடு, கொரோனா பரவல் காரணமாக கடந்த 4 முறையாக ஒத்திவைக்கப்பட்ட பிறகு தற்போது நடந்து வருகிறது. 
• இந்த கூட்டத்தில் உலகளாவிய அளவில் இயற்கையை மீட்டெடுக்கும் 10 முயற்சிகளை ஐநா அங்கீகரித்துள்ளது. இதில் இந்தியாவின் கங்கை தூய்மை திட்டமும் ஒன்றாகும். 
• இமயமலை முதல் வங்கக் கடல் வரையிலான 2,525 கி.மீ. தூரம் ஓடும் புனித கங்கை நதி மற்றும் அதன் கிளை நதிகளை தூய்மைபடுத்தும் இந்த திட்டத்தின் மூலம் அதனை சுற்றி வசிக்கும் 52 கோடி மக்களின் வாழ்வாதாரம் பாதுகாக்கப்பட்டு பயனடைவார்கள். 
• பருவநிலை மாறி வரும் இந்த கால கட்டத்தில், அழிந்து வரும் காட்டு விலங்கினங்கள், ஆற்று மீன்கள், ஆமைகள், நீர்நாய்கள் உள்ளிட்ட பல்லுயிர்களை மாசு மற்றும் கழிவுகளில் இருந்து காக்கும் இத்திட்டம் நிலையான விவசாயத்தை ஊக்குவிக்கும் திட்டமாகும்.

• The 15th Summit of the United Nations Biodiversity Conservation Organization will be held from the 7th to the 19th in Canada's Montreal province.
• Representatives from 200 countries have participated in this. The summit, which is convened every two years, is currently underway after being postponed four times due to the spread of the Corona virus.
• At this meeting, the UN recognized 10 initiatives to restore nature globally. India's Ganga Cleanliness Program is one of them.
• 2,525 km from the Himalayas to the Bay of Bengal. The livelihood of 52 crore people living around the holy river Ganga and its tributaries will be protected and benefited by this project to clean up the long flowing holy river Ganga and its tributaries.
• In this era of changing climate, the project promotes sustainable agriculture to protect biodiversity including endangered wildlife, river fish, turtles and otters from pollution and waste.
