INDIAN NEWSPAPER DAY 2025 - 29TH JANUARY | இந்திய செய்தித்தாள் தினம் 2025 - ஜனவரி 29: இந்திய செய்தித்தாள் சங்கத்தின் அழைப்பின்படி ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஜனவரி 29 ஆம் தேதி ‘இந்திய செய்தித்தாள் தினமாக’ அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. முதல் நாளிதழ் பிறந்து அச்சாகிய நாள் இது.

இந்தியாவின் முதல் செய்தித்தாள் 'ஹிக்கிஸ் பெங்கால் கெசட்' என்று அழைக்கப்பட்டது, இது 'கல்கத்தா பொது விளம்பரதாரர்' என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

இது 1780 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 29 ஆம் தேதி அன்றைய இந்தியாவின் தலைநகராக இருந்த கொல்கத்தாவில் அச்சிடப்பட்டது.

INDIAN NEWSPAPER DAY 2025: January 29th is going to be observed every year as ‘Indian Newspaper Day,’ as per the summons of the Indian Newspaper Society. This is the day when the first newspaper was born and spun into print.

The first-ever newspaper in India was called 'Hicky's Bengal Gazette', also known as 'Calcutta General Advertiser'. It was printed on 29th January 1780 in Kolkata which was the capital of India at that time.

During the time when a news took days to reach the target audience, newspapers changed how things functioned. Print was the only medium which was not unaffordable and carried relevant information.

Hicky's Bengal Gazette was the first newspaper to be printed in Asia. It's publication was stopped in 1782 as the British were aware of the damage the newspapers could do to their regime.
