• தமிழ்க் கவிதை வளர்ச்சியிலும் திராவிடர் இயக்கம் புரட்சியை ஏற்படுத்தியது. “எங்கள் வாழ்வும் எங்கள் வளமும் மங்காத தமிழென்று சங்கே முழங்கு” என்று ஒலித்த புரட்சிக் கவிஞர் பாரதிதாசனை, திராவிட இயக்கத்தின் தலைமைக் கவிஞர் எனலாம். 
• அவர் பின்னால் கவிஞர் கண்ணதாசன், சுரதா, மீரா, முடியரசன், புலவர் பொன்னி வளவன், கவிஞர் கருணானந்தம் என்று பெரியதொரு கவிஞர் பட்டாளமே அணிவகுத்துக் கிளம்பியது.
• அவர்கள் தமிழுணர்வு, இசையுணர்வு ஆகியன பொங்கி எழும் கவிதைகளைப் படைத்தனர். அவர்களுடைய கவிதைகள் புலவர்களை மட்டுமல்லாமல் பொதுமக்களையும் சென்றடைந்தன. 
• தமிழில் கவியரங்கம் நடத்தும் வழக்கத்தினை ஏற்படுத்தியதும் திராவிடர் இயக்கம்தான்.
• கலைஞர் அவர்கள் கவிதைகள் இயற்றியதுடன், கவியரங்கங்களுக்கும் தலைமை தாங்கி நடத்தியுள்ளார். அறிஞர் அண்ணா அவர்கள் மறைந்தபோது, “பூவிதழின் மென்மையினும் மென்மையான புனித உள்ளம் அன்பு உள்ளம் அரவணைக்கும் அன்னை உள்ளம்” எனத் தொடங்கும் கலைஞர் பாடிய இரங்கற்பா, தமிழ் இலக்கிய வரலாற்றில் சிறப்பான ஓர் இடத்தைப் பெற்றுள்ளது.

• The Dravidian movement revolutionized the development of Tamil poetry as well. The revolutionary poet Bharathidasan, who sang the song "Our life and our prosperity are unfading Tamils", can be called the chief poet of the Dravidian movement.
• A large army of poets marched behind him: poet Kannadasan, Suratha, Meera, Munirasan, poet Ponni Valavan, poet Karunananda.
• They composed poems bursting with Tamilness and music. His poems reached not only the poets but also the public. It was the Dravidian movement that established the custom of conducting poetry rangam in Tamil.
• The artist has also composed poetry and conducted poetry halls. On the death of scholar Anna, Irangappa, sung by the artist, which begins with "The tenderness and gentleness of the leaf, the holy soul, the loving soul, the warm mother's soul", has a special place in the history of Tamil literature.
