• அண்ணா வழியில் கலைஞர் அவர்களும் தமிழ்ப் பயிற்றுமொழிக் கொள்கையில் உறுதியானவர். 1967-68-ம் ஆண்டில் இளங்கலை வகுப்பிலும், 1969-70-ம் ஆண்டில் இளம் அறிவியல் வகுப்பிலும் தமிழ் பயிற்றுமொழி ஆக்கப்பட்டது. 
• தமிழில் பயிலும் மாணவர்களுக்குச் சிறப்பு ஊக்கத்தொகை வழங்கவும் கலைஞர் ஆணை பிறப்பித்தார். 1996-ம் ஆண்டுக் கலைஞர் மீண்டும் முதலமைச்சரானபோது, மெட்ரிகுலேசன் பள்ளிகளிலும் தமிழைப் பாடமொழியாக்குவதற்கான ஆணை 1996, நவம்பர் 19-ம் நாள் பிறப்பிக்கப்பட்டது. இதை எதிர்த்து மெட்ரிகுலேசன் பள்ளி நிர்வாகிகள் தொடர்ந்த வழக்கு உச்சநீதிமன்றத்தில் உள்ளது.
• தமிழ்நாட்டில் தமிழைப் படிக்காமலேயே ஒருவன் பட்டம் பெற்றுச் செல்லக்கூடிய அவலநிலை நீடிப்பதாகக் கூறப்பட்டு வந்த குற்றச்சாட்டு, தி.மு.க ஆட்சிக் காலத்தில் நீக்கப்பட்டது. 
• கலைஞர் ஐந்தாம் முறையாக முதலமைச்சராகப் பொறுப்பேற்றதும் நடைபெற்ற முதலாவது சட்டப் பேரவை கூட்டத்திலேயே இதற்கான சட்டம் ஒன்றைக் கொண்டுவந்தார். 
• 2006-ம் ஆண்டு மே மாதம் 31-ம் நாள் நடைபெற்ற சட்டப்பேரவை கூட்டத்தில், அனைத்துப் பள்ளிகளிலும் 1-ம் வகுப்பு முதல் 10-ம் வகுப்புவரை தமிழை ஒரு பாடமாகக் கட்டாயமாகக் கற்பிக்க வேண்டும் என்று சட்டம் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது. 
• இதை எதிர்த்து சிறுபான்மையினர் பள்ளிகள் தொடுத்த வழக்கை, உயர்நீதிமன்றம் தள்ளுபடி செய்துவிட்டது. எனினும், கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்ட மலையாளிகள் சங்கம் உச்சநீதிமன்றத்தில் மேல்முறையீடு செய்தது. ஆனால், 2008-ம் ஆண்டு ஃபிப்ரவரி மாதம் 18-ம் நாள் உச்சநீதிமன்றமும் இந்த வழக்கை தள்ளுபடி செய்து உத்தரவிட்டது.
• 2010-2011-ம் ஆண்டு அண்ணா தொழிற்நுட்ப பல்கலைக் கழகங்களில் கட்டுமானவியல், இயந்திரவியல் ஆகிய பாடப் பிரிவுகளில் தமிழ்மொழி வழியாகக் கல்வி கற்க வகைச் செய்து, இந்தியாவிலேயே முதன்முறையாகத் தாய்மொழியில் கற்க ஆணையிடப்பட்டது. ஆக, இன்றைக்குத் தமிழ்நாட்டில் அனைத்துப் பள்ளிகளிலும் தமிழ் கற்பிக்கப்படுவதற்குக் கலைஞர் அவர்களே காரணம்.
• அனைத்துக் கல்லூரிகளும் விருப்பம் சார்ந்த தகுதிப் புள்ளி முறையும் (choice based credit system) 2009-ம் ஆண்டுத் தி.மு.க ஆட்சிக் காலத்தில்தான் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டது. 
• அதன்படி, பட்டப்படிப்பில் தமிழை முதல் பிரிவில் எடுத்துப் படிக்காத மாணவர்கள் நான்காம் பிரிவில் தமிழ் மொழியை ஒரு பாடமாகக் கட்டாயம் படிக்க வேண்டும். 
• கலைஞர் அவர்களின் இந்த முயற்சியால், இன்று தமிழ்நாட்டில் உள்ள கல்லூரிகள் அனைத்திலும் பிற மாநில மாணவர்களும், வெளிநாட்டு மாணவர்களும் தமிழை ஒரு பாடமாகப் படித்தே ஆகவேண்டும் என்ற கட்டாயம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. இனி, தமிழ்நாட்டில் தமிழைப் படிக்காமல் பட்டம் பெறும் பேச்சுக்கே இடமில்லை.

• Artist Anna Way is also committed to the principle of Tamil as a medium of instruction. In 1967-68, Tamil was made the medium of instruction in the undergraduate class and in 1969-70 in the junior science class.
• The artist also issued an order to provide special incentives to students studying in Tamil. In 1996, when the artist again became the Chief Minister, an order was issued on 19 November 1996 to make Tamil the medium of instruction in matriculation schools as well. The matriculation school administrators have filed a case against this in the Supreme Court.
• The allegation that the plight of a person getting a degree without studying Tamil in Tamil Nadu continued, was removed during DMK rule.
• The artist brought a law to this effect in the first Legislative Assembly meeting held after taking charge as the Chief Minister for the fifth time.
• On May 31, 2006, the Legislative Assembly passed a law that made Tamil compulsory as a subject in all schools from Class 1 to Class 10.
• The High Court dismissed the case filed by the minority schools against this. However, the Kanyakumari District Malayalis Association appealed to the Supreme Court. However, on February 18, 2008, the Supreme Court dismissed the case.
• In the year 2010-2011, Anna Technical University decided to teach in the mother tongue for the first time in India by making it possible to learn through Tamil language in the subjects of construction and mechanical engineering. So, the artist is the reason why Tamil is taught in all schools in Tamil Nadu today.
• All colleges and the choice based credit system were introduced in 2009 during the DMK regime.
• Accordingly, students who have not taken Tamil in the first division of the degree program must study Tamil as a subject in the fourth division.
• Due to this effort of the artist, today in all the colleges in Tamil Nadu students from other states and foreign students have to study Tamil as a subject. Now, there is no place in Tamil Nadu for getting a degree without studying Tamil.
