மத்திய நீர் ஆணையம், ரூர்கீ இந்திய தொழில்நுட்பக் கழகம் இடையே அணைகளுக்கான சர்வதேச சிறப்பு மையத்தின் மேம்பாட்டிற்கான புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம் / MoU for Development of International Center of Excellence for Dams between Central Water Commission, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee

• அணைகளின் புதுப்பித்தல் மற்றும் மேம்பாட்டு திட்டத்தின் (ட்ரிப்) இரண்டாவது மற்றும் மூன்றாவது கட்டங்களின் கீழ் அணைகளுக்கான சர்வதேச சிறப்பு மையத்தின் மேம்பாட்டிற்கான புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தத்தில் ஜல் சக்தி அமைச்சகத்தின் நீர்வளம், நதிகள் மேம்பாடு மற்றும் கங்கை புனரமைப்பு துறையின் மத்திய நீர் ஆணையம் கையெழுத்திட்டுள்ளது. ரூர்கீயில் உள்ள இந்திய தொழில்நுட்பக் கழகத்துடன் இந்த ஒப்பந்தம் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• ஆய்வு, ஆராய்ச்சி மற்றும் புதிய கண்டுபிடிப்புகள் போன்ற சிறப்பு தொழில்நுட்ப ஆதரவு அளிப்பதற்கு இந்த ஒப்பந்தம் வழிவகை செய்யும்.அணைகளின் பாதுகாப்பில் ஏற்படும் சவால்களை எதிர்கொள்ள அறிவியல் ஆராய்ச்சி மற்றும் நவீன தொழில்நுட்ப கண்டுபிடிப்புகளின் வாயிலாக தீர்வு வழங்குவதற்கு இந்த மையம் நடவடிக்கைகளை மேற்கொள்ளும். 
• மேலும் உள்ளூர், பிராந்திய, தேசிய மற்றும் சர்வதேச நிலைகளில் அணையின் பாதுகாப்பு மேலாண்மை குறித்த ஆராய்ச்சி, கல்வி மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்ப பரிமாற்ற நடவடிக்கைகளில் இந்த மையம் ஈடுபடும்.
• இந்திய அரசின் ஜல் சக்தி அமைச்சகத்தின் நீர்வளம், நதிகள் மேம்பாடு மற்றும் கங்கை புனரமைப்புத் துறையின் நிதி உதவியோடு ரூ. 109 கோடி செலவில் இந்த மையம் நிறுவப்படுகிறது.
• அணையின் பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் புதுப்பிப்பு, நீர் தேக்க வண்டல் மற்றும் நில அதிர்வு அபாய மேப்பிங் மற்றும் பகுப்பாய்வு ஆகிய துறைகளில் பெறப்பட்ட அணைகளின் பாதுகாப்பு சம்பந்தமான தகவல்கள் மற்றும் திறன்கள் மூலம் வருமானத்தை உருவாக்கி 10 ஆண்டுகளுக்குள் தன்னிறைவு நிலையை அடைய ரூர்கீ இந்திய தொழில்நுட்பக் கழகம் முயற்சிக்கும்.

• The Central Water Authority of Water Resources, Rivers Development and Ganga Rejuvenation of the Ministry of Jal Shakti has signed an MoU for development of International Center of Excellence for Dams under the second and third phases of Renovation and Development of Dams Program (TRIP).
• The contract is with the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
• The agreement will facilitate specialized technical support such as research, development and innovation. The center will undertake activities to address the challenges in dam protection through scientific research and modern technological innovations.
• The center will also engage in research, education and technology transfer activities on dam safety management at local, regional, national and international levels.
• Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganges Rehabilitation, Ministry of Water Power, Government of India with financial assistance of Rs. The center is being established at a cost of 109 crores.
• The Roorkee Indian Institute of Technology will strive to achieve self-sufficiency within 10 years by generating income through knowledge and skills related to dam safety acquired in the areas of dam maintenance and renovation, reservoir sedimentation and seismic hazard mapping and analysis.
