• தேசிய ஊரக வளர்ச்சி மற்றும் பஞ்சாயத்து ராஜ் நிறுவனம் (NIRD&PR) என்பது மத்திய ஊரக வளர்ச்சி அமைச்சகத்தின் கீழ் இயங்கும் ஒரு தன்னாட்சி அமைப்பாகும்.
• இது ஆசியா மற்றும் பசிபிக் பகுதிக்கான ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் பொருளாதார மற்றும் சமூக ஆணையத்தின் (UNESCAP) சிறந்த மையமாக சர்வதேச அளவில் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• இது கிராமப்புற மேம்பாட்டுச் செயல்பாட்டாளர்கள், PRI களின் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட பிரதிநிதிகள், வங்கியாளர்கள், NGOக்கள் மற்றும் பிற பங்குதாரர்களின் திறன்களை ஒன்றோடொன்று இணைக்கப்பட்ட பயிற்சி, ஆராய்ச்சி மற்றும் ஆலோசனை நடவடிக்கைகள் மூலம் பலப்படுத்துகிறது.

• The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR) is a self-governing body within the Union Ministry of Rural Development.
• It is internationally recognized as a Centre of Excellence of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).
• It strengthens the capacities of rural development functionaries, elected representatives of PRIs, bankers, NGOs, and other stakeholders through interconnected training, research, and consultation operations.
• The Institute was founded in 1958 and is based in Hyderabad, Telangana. This Institute has a North-Eastern Regional Centre in Guwahati, Assam, in addition to its main campus in Hyderabad, to fulfill the needs of the NE-region.
