இந்திய உணவுப் பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் தர நிர்ணய ஆணையம், நாடு முழுவதும் மாநில மற்றும் மாவட்ட அளவில் உணவுப் பாதுகாப்புத் துறைகளின் 'ஈட் ரைட் சேலஞ்ச்' செயல்பாடுகளை மதிப்பீடு செய்து, ஆண்டுதோறும் விருது வழங்குவது வழக்கம்.

இதில், உணவகங்கள், பேக்கரிகள் மற்றும் உணவுப் பொருள் தயாரிப்பு நிறுவனங்களுக்கு உரிமம் வழங்குதல், சாலையோர தள்ளு வண்டி கடைகளுக்கு 'கிளீன் ஸ்ட்ரீட் ஃபுட்' சான்றிதழ் வழங்குதல், கோயில்களில் வழங்கப்படும் பிரசாதம், அன்னதானத்தை பரிசோதித்து தரச் சான்றிதழ் வழங்குதல், அபராதம் விதிப்பு ஆகியவற்றின் அடிப்படையில் மொத்தம் 200 மதிப்பெண்களுக்கு போட்டி நடத்தப்பட்டது.
அதில், 177 மதிப்பெண்கள் பெற்று, தேசிய அளவில் திண்டுக்கல் மாவட்ட உணவுப் பாதுகாப்பு துறை 7-ம் இடமும், மாநில அளவில் 2-வது இடமும் பிடித்துள்ளது. இப்போட்டியில், 200-க்கு 196 மதிப்பெண்கள் பெற்று தேசிய மற்றும் மாநில அளவில் கோவை மாவட்டம் முதலிடம் பிடித்துள்ளது.
தொடர்ந்து, 175 மதிப்பெண்களுடன் தேசிய அளவில் மதுரை மாவட்டம் 8-வது இடமும், மாநில அளவில் 3-வது இடமும் பிடித்துள்ளது. டெல்லியில் இந்திய உணவுப் பாதுகாப்பு தர நிர்ணய ஆணையம் சார்பில் நடைபெறும் விருது வழங்கும் விழாவில் இந்த விருது வழங்கப்பட உள்ளது.

The Food Safety and Standards Commission of India evaluates the performance of food safety departments at the state and district level across the country under the ``Eat Right Challenge'' and awards them annually.
In this context, the Food Safety Standards Authority of India has evaluated the performance of the food safety sector for the year 2022-23 through the Food Safety Index. For this, more than 150 districts across the country participated in the 'Eat Right Challenge'.
In this, a competition was conducted for a total of 200 marks on the basis of granting license to restaurants, bakeries and food manufacturing establishments, issuing 'Clean Street Food' certificate to roadside pushcart shops, offering offerings in temples, inspecting alms and issuing quality certificate, imposition of fines.
Out of which, Dindigul District Food Safety Department is ranked 7th nationally and 2nd nationally by scoring 177 marks. In this competition, Coimbatore has topped the national and state level by scoring 196 out of 200 marks.
Subsequently, with 175 marks, Madurai district has been ranked 8th nationally and 3rd nationally. The award will be presented at an award ceremony organized by the Food Safety Standards Authority of India in Delhi.
