ஒரே நாடு, ஒரே தேர்தல்' குறித்து ஆய்வு செய்ய 8 பேர் கொண்ட உயர்மட்ட குழு அறிவிப்பு / Announcement of 8-member high-level committee to study 'One Country, One Election'

• கடந்த 2014ம் ஆண்டு ஒன்றியத்தில் பாஜ ஆட்சி அமைத்ததில் இருந்தே, மக்களவை மற்றும் மாநில சட்டப்பேரவைகளுக்கு ஒரே நேரத்தில் தேர்தல் நடத்தும் 'ஒரே நாடு ஒரே தேர்தல்' திட்டம் குறித்து வலியுறுத்தி வருகிறது.
• இந்த யோசனையை ஆதரித்து கடந்த 2018ம் ஆண்டு ஒன்றிய சட்ட ஆணையம் வரைவு அறிக்கை சமர்பித்தது. அதில், 'அரசியலமைப்பு சட்டத்தில் உரிய திருத்தங்கள் மூலம் மட்டுமே ஒரே நேரத்தில் தேர்தல் நடத்த முடியும். குறைந்தபட்சம் 50 சதவீத மாநிலங்கள் அரசியலமைப்பு சட்ட திருத்தத்தை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ள வேண்டும்' என பரிந்துரைத்தது.
• மேலும், ஒரே நேரத்தில் தேர்தல் நடத்துவதற்கான சாத்தியக்கூறுகள் குறித்து ஆராய முன்னாள் ஜனாதிபதி ராம்நாத் கோவிந்த் தலைமையில் குழு அமைக்கப்படும்.
• இந்நிலையில், ஒரே நேரத்தில் தேர்தல் நடத்துவதற்கான ஆய்வுகளை மேற்கொள்ள 8 பேர் கொண்ட உயர்மட்ட குழுவை ஒன்றிய சட்ட ஆணையம் அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக அறிவித்தது. 
• முன்னாள் ஜனாதிபதி ராம்நாத் கோவிந்த் குழுவின் தலைவராகவும், ஒன்றிய உள்துறை அமைச்சர் அமித்ஷா, காங்கிரஸ் மக்களவை தலைவர் ஆதிர் ரஞ்சன் சவுத்ரி, மாநிலங்களவை முன்னாள் எதிர்க்கட்சி தலைவர் குலாம்நபி ஆசாத், முன்னாள் நிதி கமிஷன் தலைவர் என்.கே.சிங், மக்களவை முன்னாள் தலைமை செயலாளர் சுபாஷ் காஸ்யப், மூத்த வக்கீல் ஹரிஷ் சால்வே மற்றும் முன்னாள் ஊழல் தடுப்பு துறை ஆணையர் சஞ்சய் கோத்தாரி ஆகியோர் உறுப்பினர்களாகவும் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.
• ஒன்றிய சட்ட அமைச்சர் அர்ஜூன் ராம் மேக்வால் உயர்மட்ட குழு கூட்டங்களில் சிறப்பு அழைப்பாளராக பங்கேற்பார். சட்ட விவகார செயலாளர் நிதன் சந்திரா குழுவின் செயலாளராகவும் இருப்பார் என அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• Ever since the formation of the BJP government in the union in 2014, it has been insisting on the 'One Nation One Election' plan of holding simultaneous elections to the Lok Sabha and state legislatures.
• In support of this idea, the Union Law Commission submitted a draft report in 2018. In it, 'simultaneous elections can be held only through appropriate amendments in the Constitution. It recommended that at least 50 per cent of the states should accept the constitutional amendment'.
• Also, a committee headed by former President Ram Nath Kovind will be formed to examine the possibility of holding simultaneous elections.
• In this context, the Union Law Commission has officially announced an 8-member high-level committee to conduct studies on holding simultaneous elections.
• Former President Ram Nath Kovind as the Chairman of the Committee, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress Lok Sabha Speaker Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, Rajya Sabha Former Opposition Leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, Former Finance Commission Chairman NK Singh, Lok Sabha Former Chief Secretary Subhash Kashyap, Senior Advocate Harish Salve and former corruption Sanjay Kothari, Commissioner of Prevention Department, has also been appointed as member.
• Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Maghwal will attend the high-level committee meetings as a special invitee. It has been announced that Legal Affairs Secretary Nithan Chandra will also be the secretary of the committee.
