நாடு முழுவதும் ஒரே நேரத்தில் தேர்தல் நடத்துவது தொடர்பான பிரச்னைகள் குறித்து ஆராய்ந்து அதன் மீது பரிந்துரைகளை வழங்குவதற்காக செப்டம்பர் 2ஆம் தேதி உயர்மட்டக் குழு அமைக்கப்பட்டது.

உயர்மட்டக்குழுவின் முதல் கூட்டம் அதன் தலைவர் முன்னாள் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் திரு ராம்நாத் கோவிந்த் தலைமையில் இன்று நடைபெற்றது. கூட்டத்தில், மத்திய உள்துறை அமைச்சரும், கூட்டுறவுத் துறை அமைச்சருமான அமித் ஷா, மத்திய சட்டம் மற்றும் நீதித் துறை இணையமைச்சர் அர்ஜூன் ராம் மேக்வால் ஆகியோர் பங்கேற்றனர்.

மேலும் மாநிலங்களவை முன்னாள் எதிர்க்கட்சித் தலைவர் குலாம் நபி ஆசாத், 15-வது நிதி ஆணையத்தின் முன்னாள் தலைவர் என்.கே.சிங், மக்களவையின் முன்னாள் பொதுச் செயலாளர் டாக்டர் சுபாஷ் சி.காஷ்யப், முன்னாள் தலைமை ஊழல் கண்காணிப்பு ஆணையர் சஞ்சய் கோத்தாரி உள்ளிட்டோரும் பங்கேற்றனர்.

மூத்த வழக்கறிஞர் ஹரிஷ் சால்வே இணைய வழியில் கூட்டத்தில் கலந்து கொண்டார். மக்களவை தனிப்பெரும் கட்சியின் எதிர்க்கட்சித் தலைவர் ஆதிர் ரஞ்சன் சவுத்ரி இந்த கூட்டத்தில் கலந்து கொள்ளவில்லை.

உயர்மட்டக் குழுவின் தலைவர் திரு ராம்நாத் கோவிந்த் குழு உறுப்பினர்களை வரவேற்று பேசியதுடன் கூட்டத்தின் நிகழ்ச்சி நிரலில் இடம் பெற்றுள்ள அம்சங்கள் குறித்து விளக்கினார்.

அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட தேசிய அரசியல் கட்சிகள், மாநில அரசியல் கட்சிகள், நாடாளுமன்றத்தில் பிரதிநித்துவம் கொண்ட அரசியல் கட்சிகள், பிற அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட மாநில அரசியல் கட்சிகள் ஆகியவற்றிடம் நாட்டில் ஒரே நேரத்தில் தேர்தல் நடத்துவது குறித்து ஆலோசனைகள், கருத்துக்களைப் பெறுவது தொடர்பான கூட்டத்துக்கு அழைப்பு விடுக்க உயர்மட்டக்குழு கூட்டத்தில் முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டது. 

மேலும், நாடு முழுவதும் ஒரே நேரத்தில் தேர்தல் நடத்துவது குறித்து இந்திய சட்ட ஆணையம் தனது ஆலோசனைகள், கருத்துக்களை தெரிவிக்கவும் குழு அழைப்பு விடுக்க உள்ளது.

A high-level committee was constituted on September 2 to look into the issues related to holding simultaneous elections across the country and make recommendations on the same.

The first meeting of the High Level Committee was held today under the chairmanship of former President Mr. Ram Nath Kovind. Union Home Minister and Cooperatives Minister Amit Shah and Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Maghwal participated in the meeting.

Former Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, former Chairman of 15th Finance Commission NK Singh, former General Secretary of Lok Sabha Dr. Subhash C. Kashyap, former Chief Corruption Vigilance Commissioner Sanjay Kothari also participated.

Senior Advocate Harish Salve attended the meeting through online mode. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Aadhir Ranjan Chowdhury did not attend the meeting.

Chairman of the High Level Committee Mr. Ramnath Kovind welcomed the committee members and explained the agenda of the meeting.

It was decided in the meeting of the High Level Committee to call a meeting of the recognized national political parties, state political parties, political parties with representation in the Parliament and other recognized state political parties regarding the holding of simultaneous elections in the country.

Also, the committee is also going to invite the Law Commission of India to give its suggestions and opinions on holding simultaneous elections across the country.
