INTERNATIONAL DAY OF DEMOCRACY 2023 - 15TH SEPTEMBER / சர்வதேச ஜனநாயக தினம் 2023 - செப்டம்பர் 15: ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் செப்டம்பர் 15 சர்வதேச ஜனநாயக தினமாக உலகளவில் அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. 

இந்த நாள் ஜனநாயகத்தின் நிலையை மறுபரிசீலனை செய்வதற்கான வாய்ப்பை வழங்குகிறது மற்றும் உலகில் ஜனநாயகத்தின் கொள்கைகளை மேம்படுத்துவதையும் நிலைநிறுத்துவதையும் நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது. 

ஜனநாயகம் என்பது ஒரு குறிக்கோள் மட்டுமல்ல, தனிநபர்கள், தேசிய ஆளும் அமைப்புகள் மற்றும் சர்வதேச சமூகம் மற்றும் சிவில் சமூகத்தின் முழுமையான பங்கேற்பு தேவைப்படும் ஒரு செயல்முறையாகும். 

ஒவ்வொருவரின் பங்களிப்பின் மூலமே ஜனநாயகத்தின் இலட்சியத்தை யதார்த்தமாக்குவதும், எல்லா இடங்களிலும் எல்லாராலும் அனுபவிக்கப்படுவதும் ஆகும்.

ஜனநாயகத்தின் மூலம், மனித உரிமைகள் பாதுகாக்கப்பட்டு திறமையாக உணரப்படுகின்றன, இது குடியரசு நாடுகளுக்கு மிகவும் முக்கியமானது. 

இந்தக் கூறுகள் மற்றும் கொள்கைகளை நிலைநிறுத்தும் நோக்கத்துடன், 2007 ஆம் ஆண்டு நடைபெற்ற ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் பொதுச் சபையில் செப்டம்பர் 15 ஆம் தேதியை சர்வதேச ஜனநாயக தினமாகக் கடைப்பிடிக்க முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டது.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF DEMOCRACY 2023 - 15TH SEPTEMBER / சர்வதேச ஜனநாயக தினம் 2023 - செப்டம்பர் 15: சர்வதேச ஜனநாயக தினத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளும் தீர்மானம் கத்தாரால் முன்வைக்கப்பட்டு ஊக்குவிக்கப்பட்டது. 

நவம்பர் 2007 இல், ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் பொதுச் சபை "புதிய அல்லது மீட்டெடுக்கப்பட்ட ஜனநாயகத்தை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கும் ஒருங்கிணைப்பதற்கும் அரசாங்கங்களின் ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் முயற்சிகளின் ஆதரவு" என்ற தலைப்பில் தீர்மானத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டது மற்றும் ஜனநாயகத்தை வலுப்படுத்தவும் உறுதிப்படுத்தவும் அரசாங்கங்களை ஊக்குவித்தது.

முதல் சர்வதேச ஜனநாயக தினம் 15 செப்டம்பர் 2008 அன்று உலகம் முழுவதும் பல பாராளுமன்ற நிகழ்வுகளுடன் அனுசரிக்கப்பட்டது.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF DEMOCRACY 2023 - 15TH SEPTEMBER: Every year September 15 is observed globally as International Day of Democracy. The day provides an opportunity to review the state of democracy and aims at promoting and upholding the principles of democracy in the world. 

Democracy is not only a goal but a process itself that requires complete participation of individuals, national governing bodies as well as international community and civil society. It is only through everyone’s contribution that the ideal of democracy be made into a reality and enjoyed by everyone, everywhere.

International Day of Democracy Significance

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF DEMOCRACY 2023 - 15TH SEPTEMBER: The essential elements of democracy include values of freedom, respect for human rights and the principle of holding genuine elections periodically. Through democracy, human rights are protected and realized efficiently which is very important for republic countries. 

With the purpose of upholding these elements and principles, it was decided by the United Nations in its General Assembly held in 2007 that 15 September will be observed as International Day of Democracy.

In regard of this, International Day of Democracy is celebrated every year with great fervor. The UN invites all member states and organizations to commemorate this important day in an appropriate manner that contributes to raising public awareness.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF DEMOCRACY 2023 - 15TH SEPTEMBER: The resolution to adopt International Day of Democracy was put forward and promoted by Qatar. On November 2007, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the resolution with the title “Support by United Nations system of efforts of governments to promote and consolidate a new or restored democracy” and encouraged governments to strengthen and consolidate democracy.

The first International Day of Democracy was thus observed on 15 September 2008 with numerous parliamentary events held worldwide.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF DEMOCRACY 2023 - 15TH SEPTEMBER: Governments all around the world observe the International Day of Democracy with special functions and events. These include photo competitions, workshops for children, live televised debates, radio phone-ins and meetings with civil society organizations. 

Any individual can participate in these events to enjoy their democracy and its international celebration. Other ways in which you can celebrate this day is by learning more about democracy and human rights and knowing the right way to utilize them. 

Make some time to learn about your local elections and candidates so that you can make an informed decision and play your part in democracy.
