தேசிய நிலக்கரி குறியீட்டெண் செப்டம்பரில் 3.83 புள்ளிகள் உயர்ந்து 143.91 ஆக உள்ளது. இது நடப்பு ஆண்டில் ஏப்ரல் மாதத்துக்குப் பிறகு முதல் முறையான உயர்வாகும்.

தேசிய நிலக்கரி குறியீட்டெண் 2020 ஜூன் 4 அன்று நிலக்கரி அமைச்சகத்தால் வெளியிடப்பட்டது. இது நிலையான அடிப்படை ஆண்டுடன் ஒப்பிடும்போது ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட மாதத்தில் நிலக்கரியின் விலையில் ஏற்படும் மாற்றத்தை பிரதிபலிக்கும் விலைக் குறியீடாகும்.

சந்தை அடிப்படையிலான நடைமுறையின் அடிப்படையில் பிரீமியம் (ஒரு டன் அடிப்படையில்) அல்லது வருவாய் பங்கை (சதவீத அடிப்படையில்) தீர்மானிக்க தேசிய நிலக்கரி குறியீட்டெண் (என்.சி.ஐ) பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது .

இந்தக் குறியீடு இந்தியச் சந்தையில் கச்சா நிலக்கரியின் அனைத்து பரிவர்த்தனைகளையும் உள்ளடக்கியது. ஒழுங்குபடுத்தப்பட்ட (மின்சாரம் மற்றும் உரம்) மற்றும் ஒழுங்குபடுத்தப்படாத துறைகளில் பல்வேறு தரங்களில் பயன்படுத்தப்படும் உலோகவியல் நிலக்கரி மற்றும் உலோகவியல் அல்லாத நிலக்கரி ஆகியவையும் இதில் அடங்கும்.

நாட்டில் வரவிருக்கும் பண்டிகை காலம் மற்றும் குளிர்காலம் காரணமாக நிலக்கரியின் தேவை அதிகரித்து வருவதையே என்.சி.ஐ-யின் உயர்வு குறிக்கிறது.

இது வளர்ந்து வரும் எரிசக்தி தேவைகளைப் பூர்த்தி செய்ய உள்நாட்டு நிலக்கரி உற்பத்தியை மேலும் அதிகரிப்பதன் மூலம் அதிகபட்ச நன்மையைப் பெற நிலக்கரி உற்பத்தியாளர்களை ஊக்குவிக்கும்.

The National Coal Index rose 3.83 points to 143.91 in September. This is the first increase since April this year.

The National Coal Index 2020 was released by the Ministry of Coal on 4th June. It is a price index that reflects the change in the price of coal in a particular month compared to a fixed base year.

The National Coal Index (NCI) is used to determine the premium (on a tonne basis) or revenue share (on a percentage basis) based on market-based practice. This index covers all transactions of crude coal in the Indian market. 

It includes metallurgical coal and non-metallurgical coal used in various grades in regulated (power and fertiliser) and unregulated sectors. The rise in NCI is indicative of rising demand for coal due to the upcoming festive season and winter in the country, encouraging coal producers to take maximum advantage by further increasing domestic coal production to meet growing energy needs.
