அவ்வையார் விருது 2024 / AVVAIYAR AWARD 2024: பெண்களுக்காக கல்வி, மருத்துவம், மகளிர் முன்னேற்றம், மகளிர் உரிமை, மத நல்லிணக்கத்தை ஊக்குவித்தல், தமிழுக்கான சேவை, கலை, இலக்கியம், அறிவியல், பத்திரிகை மற்றும் நிர்வாகம் ஆகிய பல்வேறு துறைகளில் முன்மாதிரியாக தொண்டாற்றிய பெண்களை ஊக்குவிக்கும் வகையில் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் சர்வதேச மகளிர் தினத்தன்று சமூக நலன் மற்றும் மகளிர் உரிமைத் துறை சார்பில் கடந்த 2012-ம் ஆண்டு முதல் தமிழக அரசால் 'அவ்வையார் விருது' வழங்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. இவ்விருது பெறுவோருக்கு 1 லட்சத்து 50 ஆயிரம் ரூபாய்க்கான காசோலை மற்றும் சான்றிதழ் வழங்கப்படும்.

அவ்வகையில், சர்வதேச மகளிர் தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு தமிழ்நாடு அரசின் 2024-ம் ஆண்டுக்கான அவ்வையார் விருதினை இலக்கியத்தின் மூலமாக தலித் மக்களின் குரலாக ஒலித்து, சமூக தொண்டாற்றி வரும், முன்னணி எழுத்தாளரான விருதுநகர் மாவட்டத்தைச் சேர்ந்த பாஸ்டினா சூசைராஜ் என்கிற பாமா அவர்களுக்கு தமிழக முதல்வரின் ஆணைக்கிணங்க தமிழக அரசு அறிவித்துள்ளது.

பெண்களின் வாழ்க்கையை, குறிப்பாக ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட பெண்களின் வாழ்க்கையை தனது வாழ்வனுபவங்களின் மூலம் அதன் தகிக்கும் அனலோடு தமிழிலக்கிய படைப்புகளாகவும், சாதி மற்றும் பாலினம் சார்ந்து சமூகத்தில் நிலவும் சமத்துவமின்மையையும் அநீதிகளையும் எடுத்துக்காட்டும் தொகுப்புகளாகவும் எழுதியுள்ளார்.

இவரது நூல்களான கருக்கு, சங்கதி, வன்மம், மனுசி போன்ற நாவல்களும், கிசும்புக்காரன், கொண்டாட்டம், ஒரு தாத்தாவும் எருமையும் போன்ற சிறுகதை தொகுப்புகள் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கவை. 

இவர் எழுதிய "கருக்கு" என்ற புதினம் ஆங்கிலத்தில் மொழி பெயர்க்கப்பட்டு, 2000-ம் ஆண்டின் 'கிராஸ் வேர்ட்புக்' விருதை பெற்றுள்ளது என அரசின் செய்திக்குறிப்பில் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

AVVAIYAR AWARD 2024: On International Women's Day every year on behalf of the Department of Social Welfare and Women's Rights last 2012- to encourage women who have made exemplary contributions in various fields such as education for women, medicine, women's advancement, women's rights, promotion of religious harmony, service to Tamils, art, literature, science, journalism and administration. 'Avvaiyar Virudhu' has been given by the Tamil Nadu government since 2008. The awardee will receive a check of Rs 1 lakh 50 thousand and a certificate.

In this way, on the occasion of International Women's Day, the Government of Tamil Nadu has announced the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Award for the year 2024 to the Tamil Nadu Government's Avvaiyar Award for Dalit people's voice and social activism, a leading writer from Virudhunagar district, Bastina Susairaj alias Bama.

She has written about the life of women, especially the oppressed women through her life experiences with its appropriate analogue in Tamil literature works and collections highlighting the inequality and injustices prevailing in the society based on caste and gender.

His novels such as Karuku, Sangathi, Vanmam, Manushi, and short story collections such as Kisumbukaran, Ceratinam, Eru Datta Vum Erumai are notable. According to the government's press release, the novel "Karuku" written by him has been translated into English and won the 'Cross Wordbook' award of the year 2000.
