27TH APRIL - WORLD TAPIR DAY 2024 / ஏப்ரல் 27 - உலக தாபியர் தினம் 2024: ஆண்டுதோறும் ஏப்ரல் 27 அன்று கொண்டாடப்படும் உலக தாபீர் தினம், அழிந்து வரும் உயிரினங்கள் பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்துவதற்காக 2008 ஆம் ஆண்டில் பாதுகாவலர்களால் தொடங்கப்பட்டது.

தென் அமெரிக்கா, மத்திய அமெரிக்கா மற்றும் தென்கிழக்கு ஆசியாவின் காடு மற்றும் வனப் பகுதிகளை பூர்வீகமாகக் கொண்ட, அழிந்து வரும் டாபீர்களின் அவலநிலை பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தும் ஒரு வழிமுறையாக 2008 இல் விடுமுறை தொடங்கியது.

27TH APRIL - WORLD TAPIR DAY 2024 / ஏப்ரல் 27 - உலக தாபியர் தினம் 2024: உலகெங்கிலும் உள்ள டாபிர் பிரியர்களும், பாதுகாவலர்களும் இணைந்து இந்த சிறப்பு விலங்கு தினத்தை நிறுவினர். அவர்கள் 2008 இல் முதல் உலக தபீர் தினத்தை நடத்தினர்.

அழிந்து வரும் இந்த இனத்தை அழியாமல் பாதுகாக்கும் நோக்கத்துடன் உலக தாபீர் தினம் நிறுவப்பட்டது. நாம் அவற்றை நன்றாகப் பாதுகாத்தால், எதிர்கால சந்ததியினருக்காக அவை இன்னும் இங்கே இருக்கும் சாத்தியத்தை அது நிராகரிக்க முடியாது.

பிரேசிலிய டாபீர் மற்றும் மலை தபீர் இரண்டும் அழிந்து வரும் உயிரினங்களின் பட்டியலில் உள்ளன. மேலும், மலாயன் தபீர் மற்றும் பேர்ட்ஸ் தபீர் ஆகியவை அழியும் நிலையில் உள்ளன. இன்று, உலகளவில் 3,000 மலாயா தபீர்களும், 5,000 பேர்ட்ஸ் தபீர்களும் மட்டுமே உள்ளன.

27TH APRIL - WORLD TAPIR DAY 2024: World Tapir Day, celebrated annually on April 27, was started by conservationists in 2008 to raise awareness of the endangered species.

The holiday began in 2008 as a means of raising awareness of the plight of endangered tapirs, which are native to jungle and forest regions of South America, Central America and Southeast Asia.

World Tapir Day is a unique celebration dedicated to raising awareness about tapirs, those curious creatures that have roamed the Earth for millions of years.

History

27TH APRIL - WORLD TAPIR DAY 2024: Tapir lovers and conservationists from around the world banded together to establish this special animal day. They hosted the first World Tapir Day in 2008.

World Tapir Day was established with the intent of protecting this endangered species from extinction. If we preserve them well, it doesn’t rule out the possibility that they might still be here for future generations.

Inhabit the area of forest and jungle, makes them particularly vulnerable to deforestation, especially as large herbivores. The dangers of their extinction not only causing the loss of another species, but also endanger the entire remaining forests. It is because of their behavior to disperse seeds throughout the jungle, which has very important role for forest regeneration.

Beside, many people are still unaware of Tapir as a species and frequently mistake them for members of another species. That means they are losing a special part of the world without ever knowing they exist. This is also problem so World Tapir Day purpose is to help raise world awareness of this species.

Types of Tapirs

27TH APRIL - WORLD TAPIR DAY 2024: There are four recognized types of tapirs, including:

• Brazilian tapir
• Malayan tapir,
• Baird's tapir
• Mountain tapir

Both the Brazilian tapir and the mountain tapir are on the list of threatened species. In addition, the Malayan tapir and the Baird's tapir are endangered. Today, there are only 3,000 Malayan tapirs globally and 5,000 Baird's tapirs.
