இந்தத் திட்டத்தின் கீழ், 10.74 கோடிக்கும் அதிகமான ஏழை மற்றும் பாதிக்கப்படக்கூடிய குடும்பங்கள் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ரூ.5 லட்சம் இலவச மருத்துவக் காப்பீடு பெறுகின்றன.
இத்திட்டம் மூன்று நாட்களுக்கு முன் மருத்துவமனையில் சேர்க்கும் செலவுகள், 15 நாட்களுக்கு முன் மருத்துவமனை பராமரிப்பு மற்றும் பிற தொடர்புடைய கட்டணங்கள் ஆகியவற்றை உள்ளடக்கியது.
மேலும், தகுதியான நோயாளிகள் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான அரசு மற்றும் தனியார் மருத்துவமனைகளில் முதல் தர மருத்துவ சிகிச்சை பெறுகின்றனர்.
PM-JAY திட்டத்திற்கு மத்திய அரசு முழு நிதியுதவி அளிக்கிறது, ஆனால் அதன் செயலாக்க செலவு மத்திய மற்றும் மாநில அரசுகளுக்கு இடையே பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளப்படுகிறது. PM-JAY திட்டத்தின் பயனாளிகளுக்கு பணமில்லா மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்க மாநில அரசுக்கு உரிமை உண்டு.

It was launched in the year 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

30th APRIL - AYUSHMAN BHARAT DIWAS 2024: The significance of Ayushman Bharat Diwas is to highlight the objectives of Ayushman Bharat Yojana and educate people about the advantages of this healthcare scheme. The Ayushman Bharat Yojana is a significant healthcare initiative of the government of India.
Under this scheme, more than 10.74 crore poor and vulnerable families receive free health insurance of Rs 5 lakh every year. The scheme also covers the expenses of three days of pre-hospitalization, 15 days of pre-hospitalization care and other associated charges. Also, eligible patients get first-rate medical care at thousands of government and private hospitals.
The central government is fully funding the PM-JAY scheme, but its implementation cost is shared between the central and state governments. The state government has the right to provide cashless hospitalisation to the beneficiaries of the PM-JAY scheme.
