NELSON MANDELA AWARD FOR HEALTH PROMOTION 2024 / சுகாதார மேம்பாட்டுக்கான நெல்சன் மண்டேலா விருது 2024: பெங்களூரின் தேசிய மனநல மற்றும் நரம்பியல் அறிவியல் நிறுவனம் (நிம்ஹான்ஸ்), சுகாதார மற்றும் குடும்ப நல அமைச்சகத்தின் கீழ் தேசிய முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்த நிறுவனம், இந்திய அரசு 2024 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான சுகாதார மேம்பாட்டுக்கான நெல்சன் மண்டேலா விருதை உலக சுகாதார அமைப்பால் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
சுகாதார மேம்பாட்டுக்கான நெல்சன் மண்டேலா விருது, 2019 ஆம் ஆண்டில் WHO ஆல் நிறுவப்பட்டது, தனிநபர்கள், நிறுவனங்கள் மற்றும்/அல்லது அரசு அல்லது அரசு சாரா நிறுவனங்களை அங்கீகரிக்கிறது, அவை சுகாதார மேம்பாட்டிற்கு குறிப்பிடத்தக்க பங்களிப்புகளை நிரூபித்துள்ளன.
இந்த விருதை வழங்கிய நிம்ஹான்களை மத்திய சுகாதார அமைச்சர் டாக்டர் மன்சுக் மண்டவியா வாழ்த்தினார்.
இந்திய சுகாதார செயலாளர் ஸ்ரீ அபுர்வா சந்திரா, இந்தியாவின் முயற்சிகள் மற்றும் மனநலத் துறையில் முன்னோடி பணிகளை அங்கீகரிப்பதில் தனது மகிழ்ச்சியை வெளிப்படுத்தினார், மேலும் இந்த சாதனைக்கு நிம்ஹான்களை வாழ்த்தினார்.
இந்த விருது நிம்ஹான்ஸின் அர்ப்பணிப்பு மற்றும் மன ஆரோக்கியம் மற்றும் நல்வாழ்வை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கான சிறந்த பங்களிப்புகளுக்கு ஒரு சான்றாகும். நிம்ஹான்ஸ் மனநலம் மற்றும் நரம்பியல் விஞ்ஞானங்களில் முன்னணியில் உள்ளது, ஆராய்ச்சி, கல்வி மற்றும் நோயாளி கவனிப்புக்கு புதுமையான அணுகுமுறைகளை வென்றது.

மனநல சுகாதார சேவையை பொது சுகாதாரப் பாதுகாப்பில் ஒருங்கிணைப்பதில் அதன் முயற்சிகள், சமூக அடிப்படையிலான உத்திகளை வளர்ப்பது மற்றும் டிஜிட்டல் சுகாதார தலையீடுகளை முன்னோடி செய்தல் ஆகியவை உலகளவில் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.
இந்த பாராட்டு நிம்ஹான்களுக்கு ஒரு முக்கியமான நேரத்திற்கு வருகிறது, ஏனெனில் நிறுவனம் அதன் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட 50 ஆண்டுகளையும், அதன் முன்னோடி அகில இந்திய மனநல நிறுவனத்தின் (AIIMH) 70 வது ஆண்டுவிழாவையும் கொண்டாடுகிறது.
நிம்ஹான்ஸ் இரட்டை மைல்கல்லைக் குறிப்பதால், விருது சிறப்பு முக்கியத்துவத்தைக் கொண்டுள்ளது, இது நிறுவனத்தின் வளமான மரபு மற்றும் மனநலம் மற்றும் நரம்பியல் துறையில் தொடர்ச்சியான பரிணாமத்தை எடுத்துக்காட்டுகிறது.
சமீபத்திய காலங்களில் மனநலத் துறையில் இந்தியா பெரும் முன்னேற்றம் கண்டுள்ளது. தேசிய சுகாதார பணி மூலம் இன்று நாட்டின் கிட்டத்தட்ட அனைத்து மாவட்டங்களிலும் மனநல சுகாதார அலகுகள் ஆதரிக்கப்படுகின்றன.
இந்தியாவின் தேசிய டெலி மனநல சுகாதார ஹெல்ப்லைன், டெலி மனாஸ், 10 அக்டோபர் 2022 அன்று தொடங்கப்பட்டது, சமீபத்தில் 10 லட்சம் அழைப்புகளை கையாண்டதற்கான அடையாளத்தையும் அடைந்தது.

NELSON MANDELA AWARD FOR HEALTH PROMOTION 2024: National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has been awarded with the Nelson Mandela Award for Health Promotion for 2024 by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Nelson Mandela Award for Health Promotion, established by WHO in 2019, recognizes individuals, institutions and/or governmental or non-governmental organizations that have demonstrated remarkable contributions to health promotion.
Union Health Minister, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya congratulated NIMHANS on being conferred with this award.
Shri Apurva Chandra, Union Health Secretary expressed his happiness at the recognition of India's efforts and pioneering work in the field of mental health and congratulated NIMHANS for this achievement.
The award is a testament to NIMHANS' dedication and outstanding contributions to promoting mental health and well-being. NIMHANS has been at the forefront of mental health and neurosciences, championing innovative approaches to research, education, and patient care.
It has been instrumental in initiating and implementing avant-garde mental health programs that address the needs of diverse populations. Its efforts in integrating mental health care into general health care, developing community-based strategies, and pioneering digital health interventions have been recognized globally.
This accolade arrives at a particularly momentous time for NIMHANS, as the Institute celebrates 50 years of its formation and the 70th anniversary of its precursor, the All India Institute of Mental Health (AIIMH).
As NIMHANS marks the dual milestone, the award holds special significance, highlighting the Institute's rich legacy and continuous evolution in the field of mental health and neurosciences.
India has made major strides in the field of mental health in recent times. Mental Health Units are supported in almost all districts of the country today through the National Health Mission. India's national tele mental health helpline, Tele MANAS, which was launched on 10th Oct 2022 also recently achieved the landmark of having handled 10 lakh calls.
