REPORTS ON ROAD ACCIDENT 2023 / சாலை விபத்து குறித்த அறிக்கை 2023: நாடு முழுவதும் கடந்த 2023ஆம் ஆண்டில் மட்டும், சாலை விபத்துகளில் கிட்டத்திட்ட 1.73 லட்சம் பேர் பலியாகியுள்ளனர். சராசரியாக ஒரு நாளொன்றுக்கு 474 பேரும், ஒவ்வொரு மூன்று நிமிடங்களுக்கு ஒருவரும் சாலை விபத்தில் உயிரிழந்துள்ளனர்.

மாநிலங்களிடம் இருந்து பெறப்பட்ட தரவுகளை கொண்டு சாலை விபத்துகள் குறித்து மத்திய அரசு ஆய்வு நடத்த தொடங்கியதில் இருந்து, கடந்தாண்டே அதிகபட்ச உயிரிழப்புகள் பதிவாகியுள்ளது.

மேலும், கடந்தாண்டு சாலை விபத்துகளில் 4.63 லட்சம் பேர் காயமடைந்துள்ளனர். இது 2022-ஐ ஒப்பிடுகையில் 4 சதவிகிதம் அதிகமாகும்.

கடந்த 2022-ஆம் ஆண்டு சாலை விபத்துகளில் 1.68 லட்சம் பேர் உயிரிழந்ததாக சாலைப் போக்குவரத்து அமைச்சகமும், 1.71 லட்சம் பேர் உயிரிழந்ததாக தேசிய குற்றப் பதிவு ஆணையமும் அறிக்கை வெளியிட்டிருந்தன.

அதிகரிக்கும் உயிரிழப்புகள்

இதில், உத்தரப் பிரதேசம், மகாராஷ்டிரம், மத்திய பிரதேசம், குஜராத், ராஜஸ்தான், தமிழகம் உள்பட 21 மாநிலங்கள் மற்றும் யூனியன் பிரதேசங்களில் 2023ஆம் ஆண்டில் சாலை விபத்து உயிரிழப்புகள் அதிகரித்துள்ளன.

அதேவேளையில், கேரளம், ஆந்திரம், பிகார், தில்லி மற்றும் சண்டீகரில் சாலை விபத்துகளால் ஏற்படும் உயிரிழப்புகள் கடந்தாண்டு குறைந்துள்ளன.

தமிழகம் இரண்டாமிடம்

REPORTS ON ROAD ACCIDENT 2023 / சாலை விபத்து குறித்த அறிக்கை 2023: உத்தரப் பிரதேசத்தில் 23,652 பேரும், தமிழகத்தில் 18,347 பேரும், மகாராஷ்டிரத்தில் 15,366 பேரும் சாலை விபத்துகளால் கடந்தாண்டு உயிரிழந்துள்ளனர்.

மேலும், விபத்தில் காயமடைந்தவர்கள் பட்டியலில் தமிழகம்(72,292) முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளது. மத்தியப் பிரதேசம்(55,769) மற்றும் கேரளம்(54,320) அடுத்தடுத்த இடத்தில் உள்ளன.

2023-ஆம் ஆண்டில் விபத்தில் உயிரிழந்தவர்களில் கிட்டத்திட்ட 76,000 பேர் இரு சக்கர வாகன ஓட்டிகள் ஆவர். அவர்களின் 70 சதவிகிதம் பேர் தலைக்கவசம் அணியாமல் சென்றதால் உயிரிழந்ததாக தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

மலேசியாவில் நெடுஞ்சாலைகளில் இரு சக்கர வாகனங்களுக்கு தனித்தனி பாதைகள் அமைக்கப்பட்டதால் விபத்துக்கள் மற்றும் உயிரிழப்புகள் குறைத்துள்ளதை குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளனர்.

Last year saw the highest number of fatalities since the central government began conducting a survey on road accidents using data from states. Also, 4.63 lakh people were injured in road accidents last year.

This is an increase of 4 percent compared to 2022. The Ministry of Road Transport had reported that 1.68 lakh people died in road accidents in 2022 and 1.71 lakh people died in National Crime Records Commission. The report for 2023 is yet to be released by both the departments.

Increasing casualties

In 2021, there were 4.12 lakh accidents, 1.54 lakh deaths and 3.84 lakh injuries. 4.8 lakh accidents in 2023. 1.73 lakh people lost their lives and 4.63 lakh people were injured.

In this, 21 states and union territories including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu have increased road accident fatalities in 2023.

At the same time, the number of deaths due to road accidents has decreased in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi and Chandigarh last year.

Tamil Nadu is second
