In the past, women in music often faced obstacles and were unfairly overlooked or underestimated. There are even instances, such as with the influential composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, where women's contributions were wrongfully attributed to male counterparts.

For example, Mozart's sister Maria is believed to have had some of her compositions credited to him. To honour and acknowledge the invaluable contributions of women in the music industry, International Women in Music Day is celebrated annually.

This day serves as a reminder to appreciate and support women's endeavours in music and encourages them to break through any barriers that may exist. As we prepare to commemorate this special day, it's important to reflect on a few key points.
