GI TAG FOR 6 ITEMS INCLUDING JACKFRUITS & CASHEW NUTS / பண்ருட்டி பலா, முந்திரி உள்ளிட்ட 6 பொருள்களுக்கு புவிசார் குறியீடு: ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட பகுதியில் விளைவிக்கப்படும் அல்லது குறிப்பிட்ட தனித்துவத்தோடு உருவாக்கப்படும் சிறப்பு வாய்ந்த, தனித்தன்மைகொண்ட பொருள்களை சிறப்பிக்கும் வகையில் மத்திய அரசால் இந்த புவிசார் குறியீடு வழங்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

இந்த வரிசையில் புவிசார் பெற்ற பொருள்களை, எந்த நிலையிலும், வியாபார லாபத்துக்காகவோ, போலியாக வேறு யாரேனுமோ இந்தப் பெயரை பயன்படுத்துவதைத் தடை செய்யும் வகையில் இந்த அங்கீகாரம் வழங்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

முன்னதாக, கும்பகோணம் வெற்றிலை மற்றும் தோவாளை மாணிக்க மாலை ஆகியவற்றுக்கு புவிசார் குறியீடு வழங்கப்பட்டது.  இந்த நிலையில் புவிசாா் குறியீடு பெற்றதில் தேசிய அளவில் 79 பொருள்களுடன் உத்தரப் பிரதேசம் முதல் இடத்திலும் 68 பொருள்களுடன் தமிழ்நாடு இரண்டாமிடத்தில் உள்ளது.

தமிழ்நாட்டில் 11 பொருள்களுடன் தஞ்சாவூா் மாவட்டம் முதலிடத்தில் உள்ளது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. தமிழகத்தில் மேலும் 6 பொருள்களுக்கு புவிசார் குறியீடு கிடைத்துள்ளது. 

பண்ருட்டி பலாப்பழம், பண்ருட்டி முந்திரி, புளியங்குடி எலுமிச்சை, விருதுநகர் சம்பா வத்தல், ராமநாதபுரம் சித்திரை கார் அரிசி, செட்டிக்குளம் சின்ன வெங்காயம் உள்ளிட்ட 6 பொருள்களுக்கு புவிசார் குறியீடு கிடைத்துள்ளது.

இதன் மூலம், தமிழகத்தில் புவிசார் குறியீடு பெற்ற பொருள்களின் எண்ணிக்கை 68-ஆக உயர்ந்துள்ளது.

GI TAG FOR 6 ITEMS INCLUDING JACKFRUITS & CASHEW NUTS: This geographical indication is being granted by the central government to highlight special and unique products produced in a particular area or created with a specific uniqueness.

This recognition is being given to prevent anyone else from using this name for commercial gain or forgery in any way. Earlier, geographical indications were granted to Kumbakonam betel leaves and Thovalai manicka maali.

At the national level, Uttar Pradesh is at the first place with 79 products and Tamil Nadu is at the second place with 68 products.  It is noteworthy that Thanjavur district is at the first place with 11 products in Tamil Nadu.

6 more products in Tamil Nadu have received geographical indications. Six items including Panruti jackfruit, Panruti cashew, Puliyangudi lemon, Virudhunagar samba vattal, Ramanathapuram chithirai kar rice, and Chettikulam small onion have received Geographical Indication (GI) designation. With this, the number of items with GI designation in Tamil Nadu has increased to 68.
